COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The instinct to solve a platform problem by replacing the platform is understandable, but it’s often the wrong call. For many associations, the bigger opportunity isn’t a new system. It’s getting more out of the one they already have.
In this executive roundtable, association leaders will come together to explore the discipline of platform maturation: the intentional process of course-correcting within existing technology to reduce technical debt, improve data quality, and unlock capabilities that have been underused or misused over time.
A significant portion of the conversation will focus on the human side of that work. Change management looks different when the change isn’t new technology but rather a new way of using familiar technology. Getting staff to unlearn ingrained habits and re-engage with a system they think they already know requires a distinct set of strategies, and participants will dig into that challenge together.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Evaluate when platform maturation is more strategic than platform replacement for your organization.
- Apply strategies to reduce technical debt, improve data quality, and unlock underused platform capabilities.
- Implement change management approaches to help staff unlearn ingrained habits and re-engage with existing technology.
